I just got my wedding photos back and was feeling a bit inspired so I decided to tackle the project of re-doing my living room photo wall. One thing I disliked about it previously was that I had a ton of mis-matched and cheap looking frames that didn’t flow with the rustic decor of the rest of my house. After a trip to a few different stores I realized how pricey frames can get and how easy it would be to make my own. I always have a ton of scrap and pallet wood laying around so I decided to get to work. I used a nail gone to attach some pieces together. Then slapped on some paint/stain, added some embellishments and they were good to go! I used mod podge to glue the photos down. Mod podge creates just enough hold to secure the photos but also not too much where you won’t be able to remove the photo easily if you want to change them later down the road.
Here are a few samples of the frames I created. If you have the materials and tools, these are super simple to make and hardly takes much time at all! I was able to complete my photo wall in one weekend and it came out exactly as how I imagined. My decor now flows much better from room to room and makes such a huge difference.
